Hi, I am Dan Leonette
I started to work with clay some 40 years ago in Santa Barbara, California. This is also where I first came in contact with raku. My experience with clay and burning raku was so profound that I dropped out of college and began to work with clay in all its forms.

Since then I have produced a large selection of domestic ware, which I still do but on a smaller scale.
Six years ago I received a book on contemporary raku and I was so moved and inspired by what I saw being made today, that I decided to start again!s
Now I mainly work with postfired raku, matt coppers, naked raku and peal-off. I also burn other lowfiring techniques as sawdust- and saggarfiring.

I live in Sweden with my wife Kerstin, on a beautiful island called Gotland. We live in an old dairy where we also have a pottery, a gallery and my raku-factory.
I hope you enjoy your visit on my site and if you would like to know more about my work, please get in touch!
